Fruit Computers, Inc. is a technology brand focused on creating hardware and software that rethinks what technology should be: simple, intuitive, accessible, affordable, friendly, and full of flavour.
THINK Simple.
THINK Minimalism.
THINK Fruit.
Prototypes:
The Fruit Computer One is a basic, pre-assembled note-taking personal computer. The basic start of Fruit’s computers.
In Progress:
1. The Pear computer is a personal desktop computer for Fruit Computers, and is currently in prototyping.
Fruitism is our design language that makes technology feel real and modern. Digital things should look and behave like their real-world counterparts because that's how humans understand the world. A contact book looks like an actual book. A calendar looks like pages you can flip. Icons are round, soft, and immediately recognizable. We blend the best of both worlds: the familiarity of physical objects with the clean, modern aesthetic people expect from technology.

The latest version of Windows has been met with a significant amount of negative feedback, particularly from veteran users and those running older hardware. While Microsoft has touted its new design and features, many feel the changes are unnecessary, intrusive, and actively degrade the user experience.
The user interface: Form over function
A compromised taskbar: The new, centered taskbar and redesigned Start Menu have been a major point of contention. Users are frustrated by the removal of long-standing functionality, such as easily resizing or moving the taskbar and the loss of informative app labels.Less usable Start Menu: Many feel the new Start Menu is a significant downgrade from Windows 10's, offering less information at a glance and prioritizing pinned items over the quick access to apps and settings users have come to expect.Inconsistent design: For all the talk of a modern, consistent design, Windows 11 is riddled with visual inconsistencies. The polished new aesthetic often clashes with lingering legacy elements from older Windows versions, creating a disjointed and unrefined feel.
Aggressive monetization and bloatware
Forced online accounts: The mandatory requirement for a Microsoft account and an internet connection during setup for the Home edition has angered many users who prioritize privacy and local control.Adware and telemetry: The system is criticized for being filled with bloatware, aggressive advertisements for Microsoft products like Office 365, and persistent data collection (telemetry) that is difficult to disable. The Copilot invasion: The introduction of the AI-powered Copilot has been met with mixed feelings, with many feeling its integration into core apps like Notepad and the browser is an unnecessary invasion of privacy.
Performance and stability issues
Bloat and performance degradation: Despite running on modern hardware, many users report that Windows 11 feels slower than Windows 10. The system feels bogged down by unnecessary background processes and bloated system apps.Bugs and instability: Even years after its initial release, users continue to report persistent bugs and stability issues, including crashes, freezes, and problems with updates.Worse gaming performance: Some users report that Windows 11 performs worse than its predecessor in certain games and benchmarks, despite Microsoft's claims of a better gaming experience.
Disappointing for power users
Diminished customization: For users who appreciate control over their operating system, Windows 11 is a letdown. Customization options for core elements like the taskbar and Start Menu are heavily restricted.Removed functionality: Several features that users relied on in Windows 10, such as the ability to show download progress on taskbar icons, were removed for seemingly no reason.
Conclusion: An unwanted downgrade
For many users, Windows 11 is less of an upgrade and more of a forced migration to a platform with fewer features and more intrusive user-tracking. The demanding hardware requirements, aggressive monetization, and frustrating changes to the user interface have led a significant portion of the user base to view it as a poor, and for some, unacceptable replacement for Windows 10.
